Dogs > Humans

According to the justice system, that is. Let me explain...

Leonard Little, the former Vol standout who was drafted in the third round of the 1998 NFL draft by the Rams, was convicted of manslaughter in 1998. He was drunk driving and ran into a woman in Missouri, killing her. Little served 90 days in jail and 4 years probation.

Fast forward to 2009. Donte Stallworth (another former Vol) was drunk driving in Miami. He ran into an elderly gentleman and killed him. Stallworth received a sentence of 30 days in jail and 10 years probation.

Two DUI manslaughters apparently equals 4 months in prison. Two people DEAD because of these prima donnas being selfish.

Let's compare those two little brushes with the law with that of Michael Vick. Vick, as I'm sure you're all aware, pled guilty in 2007 to federal charges of dog fighting. He was sentenced to TWENTY-THREE months in prison for killing dogs. Dogs. This was served in federal "pound you in the ass" prison, not the cushy state summer camp jails that Little and Stallworth called home. Look, I'm not condoning dog fighting, but what are our priorities here? This is un-freaking-believable.

Vick was suspended indefinitely by the NFL, and some question if he'll ever be reinstated. Little was suspended for 8 games. The woman he killed was still warm, and he was back on the field. Stallworth will probably get an equally ridiculously short suspension, but only time will tell.

Bottom line: let's get our priorities straight. No one should kill anything, but human-killers should get 10x the sentence than dog-killers, not the other way around.
