Here comes The Resistance

The biggest, most anticipated musical release in years (other than Detox) is arriving this summer. Arguably the greatest rock band and live performers of this decade, Muse is planning to release their fifth (fif) studio album titled The Resistance, and one of the track titles will be "United States of Eurasia.” Muse are known best for their energetic and visually dazzling live performances and on 16 June and 17, 2007 became the first band to sell out Wembley Stadium (90,000 capacity) in London.

In the August 2007 edition of Q magazine Bellamy stated that "I live in Como, northern Italy, in a house that used to belong to the opera composer Vincenzo Bellinii. I'm trying to trace his ghost right now to help me write songs. I do this late at night, 3am. I turn the lights down low and start playing his songs on the piano in the hope of making contact. It hasn't worked so far but I'm confident it will"

In February, Matt Bellamy (lead signer, guitarist) had announced in the band's forum that he had written the "hardest song ever". He said "There's a new song in three parts, which I have been working on sporadically for many years. As a large percentage of the composition is orchestral... I've been arranging the orchestral elements myself, which is taking a long time." Bellamy also mentioned the possibility of a 15-minute space-rock solo.

Whatever The Resistance brings, I have no doubt it will freakin rock.

Enjoy
