Old Wise Man of the Day: Liam Neeson
Today's Wise Man of the Day is Liam Neeson. Liam Neeson pretty much takes the cake when it comes to mentoring on the big screen. Tall by Hollywood standards (6'4"), Neeson combines this with his British-born swagger to come off as a very knowledgeable character, even playing the father figure role in many movies. Liam was Ireland's Youth Boxing Champion at the age of 15. Just let that sink in for a second, no wonder he looks like a bad ass on the screen. Ireland's best boxer. That's probably how he got his job as a forklift operator at the Guinness plant. Anyway, here's his long list of Wise Man accomplishments:
Oskar Schindler in Schindlers List - I mean I could stop right there, done. But I'll keep going.
Robert Roy MacGregor in Rob Roy - Underrated film where Neeson stands up for his Scottish kinsmen against an English douche who raped his wife.
Michael Collins in Michael Collins - Plays the man who is known for forging Ireland's free state.
Qui-Gon Jinn in Star Wars Ep. 1 - Dude mentored Obi-Wan Kenobi, discovered the Sith. "There's always a bigger fish."
Priest Vallon in Gangs of New York - Leo's dad.
Godfrey de Ibelin in Kingdom of Heaven - As his dad, made Orlando Bloom look somewhat like a bad ass, ehhhhh that might be a stretch.
Asland in The Chronicles of Narnia - He was a fucking Lion.
Ra's Al Ghul in Batman Begins - Gave Bruce Wayne the training he needed to become Batman, probably my personal favorite.
Oh if you check out IMDB, you'll see that he has two projects planned worth mentioning. He is going to play Zeus and Abe f'ing Lincoln. Liam Neeson, so hot right now.
