I'm a big talk radio fan. Jump into the Guapo-mobile sometime and you'll see my presets are all AM radio. I know I'm Gen Y and I should be listening to some hot fire, and there's a time and place for that, but I have sensitive ears and I need to hear the soothing melodic voices of the following hosts:
- The Jim Rome Show, aka "The Jungle": Simply put, the best radio show on the air. Most people know Romey from Jim Rome is Burning on ESPN, but you can't judge a book by it's cover, and you can't judge a true radio man by his daily apperances on the Mother Ship. "Van Smack," as he's affectionately known across the Jungle, mixes sports news with sarcastic takes and emails/texts/calls from his "Clones." He also features many major athletes in daily interviews. How do you become a clone? Tune in to his show from 12-3 PM Eastern and join the millions of listeners. http://www.jimrome.com/
- The Steve Czaban Show (formerly the First Team on Fox): Arguably funnier than Romey, but the early morning time is a major turnoff (6-9 AM Eastern). His show is focused primarily on sports, but he does incorporate weird news from across the Globe (like the dude who had sex with his car). He says what he wants, when he wants, and has great soundbites. Don't miss his daily "Homer Roll." Bonus points for broadcasting from our nation's capitol. http://www.czabe.com/
- The Rush Limbaugh Show: We all know what this is about. 12-3 PM Eastern. http://www.rushlimbaugh.com/
- The Dan Patrick Show: In the words of Ma$e, who else could take 5 years off, cold turkey, come back and fly Lears off? And who else could dump ESPN and be bigger on Fox? Dan Patrick. Times vary by market. http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/danpatrick/.
