Review of The Hangover
Go see it. Find the two and half hour window and fork over the twelve bucks. There is something very special about The Hangover that you will not find in today's comedies. You'll find no superstar funny guys in this movie, which is quite refreshing. Not saying the Seth Rogan movies (where everything's "cool") are getting old or even Will Ferrell's constant fake seriousness is getting stale. The Hangover focuses on the dynamics between career supporting funny guys. First on the depth chart is Bradley Cooper (Yes Man, Wedding Crashers), he plays the cool, smooth Phil. Then Ed Helms (The Office) plays Stu, an even more square character than his most recognized Andy. Following Ed is Zach Galifianakis (What happens in Vegas, Out Cold) who plays Allen, a character best summed up as "special", he really keeps the laughs at a good frequency throughout the film. The fourth "wolf in the wolfpack" is Justin Bartha (National Treasure, ...National Treasure 2) plays Doug, the husband to be, who has gone missing. Each crazy event of their trip in Vegas is followed by something crazier, and has the very critical good ending which is hard to find in a comedy. If more coercing is needed.... Mike Tyson sings Phil Collins, come on.
Okay, that's it, I'm done.
