Studley Do-Right's Tour de France Post
The blazing fast sprinter from the Isle of Man, Mark Cavendish, brought home another win yesterday for his team. Thor Hushovd finished 5th and lost his lead in the green jersey competition. Standings are as follows:
1. Mark Cavendish (Team Columbia-HTC) 176 pts
2. Thor Hushovd (Cervelo Test Team) 169 pts
3. Jose Joaquin Rojas (Caisse D'Epargne) 110 pts
4. Tyler Farrar (Garmin-Slipstream) 110 pts
5. Gerald Ciolek (Team Milram) 100 pts
6. Oscar Freire (Rabobank) 97 pts
Standings in all other classifications remained the same.
Today is another fairly flat stage. I'd expect an early breakaway that gets caught by the peloton within the last 10k, followed by a group sprint. Look for at least 3 of those 6 riders in the top 5. Lance will keep the same time and patiently await the Alps.
